A new skate park for Grantham!

January 27, 2026

Grantham skate park will open on the 5th February. It marks the culmination of a £125,000 project to bring skateboarding and roller sports venue back to the town.

This comes after local youngster Zak Hopkins, 12, used his initiative to lobby South Kesteven District Council to kick-start the process.

The eagerly awaited skatepark at the council-owned Wyndham Park includes a flat bank, jump box, grind rails, half pipe and quarter pipe features following a successful bid to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Government money which is administered locally by SKDC.

Zak and Cllr Harrison

The skate park project has delivered a galvanised steel structure to the former concrete basketball court. It will accommodate skateboarders, roller skaters and bladers, BMX bikers and scooter riders of all ages and abilities. It is the first time in more than ten years that Grantham has had a skatepark.

The basketball court is being moved to Dysart Park in the town.

Grantham Skate Park

Grantham Skatepark is one of the venues for district-wide free half-term skateboard workshops and street art sessions, for beginners and regular skaters.

Sessions will be running at 11am, 11.45am, 12.45pm, 1.30pm for each date. There’s no need to book. Simply turn up with a skateboard and we’ll get visitors into the next available slot – and beginners who want to try the sport can borrow some gear to get involved. Find your local event:
