Bowthorpe Park Farm

Bowthorpe Park Farm
Attractions | Bourne
Set in the picturesque south Lincolnshire landscape lives one of the UK's greatest trees, The Bowthorpe Oak. Rooted in a grass paddock behind the 17th century farmhouse, the majestic oak boasts the largest girth in the UK of an oak, measuring a staggering 13.3m in circumference by 1.5m wide trunk. The tree is naturally hollow allowing it to be used for animal’s sheltering or as a venue for meetings and parties. The Great Oak has no known age but experts suggest it could be well over 1000 years old!!
Bowthorpe Park Farm welcomes visitors to come and view the tree taking in the wonderful landscape and fresh air - a refreshment kiosk and picnic area is available for you, to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Open to view June to October 10am-4pm at weekends and bank holidays. We welcome visitors to our working farm - with private bookings for groups also available during our closed days. A private viewing gives you the opportunity to have the tree all to yourself and go beyond the protective fence. accompanied by a guide to show you around.
We also have some great events and hands-on family activities organised through the spring and summer on the farm so please look on our website and social media to keep up to date with all the news.
