Halloween is just around the corner so we thought we’d round up a few ways to enjoy the spooky festivities with family in South Kesteven. Many attractions are back hosting exciting events so it’s wise to plan ahead and book early to avoid disappointment…
Pick your own pumpkin!
Take the family to pick their own pumpkins this year at Syston Park Farm.
Visit the patch and choose a pumpkin from all shapes and sizes. Why not enjoy the fantastic café and pick up some treats from the farm shop while you’re there too, ready for your pumpkin carving evening at home? No pre booking required. More details available on their Facebook page here.
Or choose your own pumpkin from the patch at Bowthorpe Park Farm before heading over to the barn to carve your creation – meaning no mess at home!
Say hello to new arrivals – the Gloucester Old Spot pigs and donkeys – along with the other farm animals and, of course, marvel at the UKs Largest Girthed Oak Tree, the Bowthorpe Oak

Take on the challenge at Burghley’s Halloween Trail
Burghley House is welcoming back their Halloween Trail this year, in their beautiful sculpture garden. Dress in your favourite costume and get ready to seek out the hidden ghosts.
Tickets are available to pre-book from 17th October – 1st November. Please note that sweets will not be provided this year due to Covid-19 restrictions. Guests are asked to download the trail map in advance and bring their own pens.
Take a Mannakin Halloween Safari… yes, you read that right!
From the comfort of your own car, you can enjoy a frightful safari around the grounds of Mannakin Hall in Fulbeck, Lowfields.
