SUMMARY:Summer of Play at Belton
DESCRIPTION:Summer of Play is returning to Belton\, bigger and better than ever before! Summer of play is sponsored by Starling Bank. \nDiscover Belton’s Avenue of Adventure this summer on the East Lawn and set off on a journey to explore some of the countries the Brownlow’s visited. Enjoy playful and interactive activities\, from designing your own Chinese Wallpaper and competing in a hobby-horse race\, to dressing up and strutting your stuff on a catwalk. \nOffering a calm space\, head inside our under-the-sea inspired sensory tent in the garden to enjoy some sensory play. \nWe’re bringing the seaside to the Estate Yard\, with ‘Belton-on-Sea’\, next to the ice-cream parlour! After building sandcastles\, head to the work zone to build miniature versions of the mansion with ‘Building Belton’. \nThat’s not all – Inspire+ will be returning on Fridays throughout the school holidays to run sport sessions on the oval. There will also be a programme of crafts\, yoga\, Belton Boogie\, and pop-up sessions held by our knowledgeable garden\, ranger\, and house teams. \nWe’ll be releasing a calendar in July to help you see what’s running when! Keep an eye on our social media for more details to be released throughout the run-up.

SUMMARY:Folkingham Remembers Operation Market Garden
DESCRIPTION:Set sail with us on the next Aveland Odyssey free festival\, to celebrate the men who flew from USAAF 484 Folkingham in 1944. The weekend will see the village of Folkingham recreated as it was 80 years earlier when the planes and gliders took off for Operation Market Garden. The festival will be held in several locations throughout the village.\nThere will be a variety of Enactors and Vehicle Trusts\, as well as representatives portraying the Home Guard and the Women’s Land Army\, For our younger visitors there will be Children’s Theatre\, free make-and-take activities\, and a chance to get hands-on with items from the war era. A programme of singers and dancers across 3 stages will keep the spirits soaring. There will be exhibitions\, displays\, and history trails\, and a series of lectures by prominent authors and historians will be presented in the Village Hall.\nFood courts and market traders will allow a bit of R&R
