SUMMARY:The Deepings Raft Race
DESCRIPTION:The Deepings Raft Race\, the highlight of summer in the Deepings\, is set to make waves once again on Sunday 4 August. The event promises a day of fun\, excitement\, and friendly competition\, drawing participants and spectators from near and far. \nThe annual charity event taking place every August in the Deepings on the River Welland is a fun day for everyone on and around the river. Over 40 homemade decorated rafts and their crews race up the river from the Bell Bridge in Deeping St James\, finishing at the Boundary Green\, with spectators cheering (and splashing!) them on from the river banks. \nThe raft race has been a beloved tradition in the Deepings since the 1960s\, raising money for local causes. In the past 10 years over £51\,000 has been donated to good causes. This year the event will support three great causes: Little Miracles Children’s Charity\, Deeping Leisure Centre Community Project and the Deepings Community Library. Your participation in the Deepings Raft Race helps make a difference in the community around the Deepings. \n  \nRaft Race Day Programme\nThe start of the raft race is at the Bell Bridge in Deeping St James.
