We also take guided walks for visitors and hold talks and lectures, all by our volunteers. We also publish books about the town.

DK Carriage Horses

Belton House

Sitting elegantly in formal gardens with views across pleasure grounds and an ancient deer-park, Belton is often cited as being the perfect example of an English country-house estate. Although built on a modest scale, it has a fine collection of porcelain and silver, a world-renowned library and architectural finesse that reflects the continued wealth and cultured tastes of its former owners, the Brownlow family. In more recent times, Belton has become a popular destination for families in search of outdoor fun, with seasonal trails and the National Trust’s largest outdoor adventure playground.

Allington Manor is a unique venue for civil weddings, partnerships and receptions. The stunning house and beautiful garden provide a grand setting for a relaxed and intimate celebration.
By restricting the number of weddings we hold to just one per weekend, we ensure our undivided attention is given to each ceremony, sparing no effort to make your day unforgettable at our exclusive use venue.
Whether you are planning a conference, board meeting or a small seminar, Allington Manor is a flexible venue that offers a unique peaceful environment. Our Delegate Package is inclusive of room hire, three light refreshment servings (tea, coffee and biscuits), lunch (a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a selection of freshly baked cakes), mints, iced water and cordials, notepads, pens and Wifi.

Allington Manor

Allington Manor is situated on the fringe of the Vale of Belvoir and in a tranquil village with excellent road links. It offers a blend of beautiful and restful country life along with a variety of more lively attractions close to hand. The Manor has 5 luxury en-suite bedrooms that all have their own peiod features. It’s a beautifully restored Grade II Jacobean building. It is steeped in history with the original manor on this site recorded in the Doomsday Book. The current Manor dates back to 1450, evidence of cellars, attics, priest holes and all the human history that suggests is everywhere. The market towns of Grantham – birthplace of Isac Newton and Margaret Thatcher – and Newark with its strong reupation for antiques, are on the doorstep. The historic town of Stamford and also Burghley House lie 20 minutes south, as does Rutland Water, Britain’s largest man-made lake.

Waterloo Studios

Our six luxury en suite Wigwam cabins are the perfect year-round getaway. Explore the outdoors at its best. Enjoy open air breakfasts and BBQs looking out over our sheep and cattle grazing nearby. Take a circular walk or cycle ride on quiet paths and farm tracks and make a splash at the stepping stones over the river, or relax in our games room. See lambing at Easter. Try beekeeping. Fly fish on the Witham that flows by the farm. Belton House is less that 5 minutes drive, making Millside Wigwams a fun family place to stay in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside.

Downtown Department Store & Garden Centre

Both Downtown Grantham sites offer customers tasty treats from sweet to savoury. With homemade classics such as lasagne or cottage pie, this is a destination for home-comforts; a perfect pit-stop during shopping. Feeling adventurous – why not try the ‘scone of the week’? Hot and cold drinks, Cafe Culture brings customers a variety of refreshing options that are sure to tease those taste buds. Don’t forget to present your Rewards card to the team, every point counts!

Low Farm Park

Set in the grounds of an 18th century farmhouse, Low Farm campsite is secluded, south facing and enjoyed for its peaceful surroundings. The conservation village of Folkingham and the New Inn, a family friendly pub, are within a few minutes walk. Surrounded by fields, the campsite abounds with wildlife but the tourist attractions of South Lincolnshire are easily accessible. Caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents are welcome, as are dogs. The campsite is equipped with toilets, hot showers and washing-up sinks. Hardstanding and grass pitches, 36 in all, are serviced by electric hookups. A rally/camping field is available for hire by larger groups and one-off events.

Wagtail Country Park

Wagtail Country Park is a touring caravan and motorhome country park situated in the peaceful tranquil Lincolnshire countryside with breathtaking views and amazing sunsets. An abundance of wildlife can be seen on the park and we have been awarded a David Bellamy Gold Award. There are pleasant walks in the area to enjoy with lots of local attractions and country pubs. The park is very dog friendly. We have a well stocked fishing lake for our keen touring fishermen to fish. Two luxury utility blocks with pot wash areas are provided. Wifi is also available. Late arrivals are catered for, if pre-booked.

Grantham Canal

The Grantham Canal towpath offers visitors a delightful 33 mile meander through the Vale of Belvoir. Opening in 1797, the canal’s prime purpose was transporting coal; fuelling the burgeoning industry and domestic needs of Grantham. Following closure in 1936, the canal is now under restoration. Between April and October, narrowboat cruises of 2, 3 or 4 hours, exclusive to your party, can be taken from Woolsthorpe by Belvoir. Tea & coffee is served throughout your cruise, all inclusive – why not bring a picnic hamper to enjoy as you glide through the pastoral landscape. Pre-booking required. More details on our website.

Belvoir Castle

Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland and the family have lived there in an unbroken line for almost a thousand years. Its turrets and towers rise over the Vale of Belvoir like an illustration in a fairytale. Due to the Castle being home to the Rutland Family we are only open on selected days throughout the year (see our website for details). Belvoir has many rooms to view, with history interwoven into the very fabric of the building. Our Tea Room in the castle offers a selection of sandwiches, home-made cakes & scones. Wonderful themed gardens delight our visitors. We hold renowned annual festivals and events within the grounds and you can shop in delight at The Engine Yard retail centre, located opposite our car park.
