Grade II listed, The Barn lies in a quiet corner of the conservation village of Folkingham, known as a 'rural Georgian gem'. Converted to preserve its original character, it now has underfloor heating and power showers, together with open log fires and antique furniture. Breakfasts are all homemade or local, sausages are made from an old family recipe, eggs from free range chickens, and special diets can be catered for. Guests have a wide range of interesting places to visit, from Cathedrals to historic houses, the seashore to bird sanctuaries. The local lanes are ideal for walking or cycling.

The Willoughby Memorial Trust Art Gallery

A late 17th Century Grammar School converted into an art gallery and library. The Gallery holds a series of exhibitions from early Spring to November, culminating in the annual open art competition exhibition that shows the work of young people with amateur and professional artists. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 5pm during exhibitions – and the Library in the old school room of this architecturally significant building is open by appointment or on request.

Grantham Guildhall Arts Centre

The Guildhall Arts Centre is a community-centred venue that aims to offer its customers an innovative, stimulating and quality arts experience. The venue hosts a variety of events including films, amateur dramatics and predominantly professional touring theatre productions. The Guildhall also has a range of rooms and a splendid Ballroom, for hire for exhibitions, weddings, parties and meetings. It is run by Cultural Services of South Kesteven District Council.

Wagtail Country Park

Wagtail Country Park is a touring caravan and motorhome country park situated in the peaceful tranquil Lincolnshire countryside with breathtaking views and amazing sunsets. An abundance of wildlife can be seen on the park and we have been awarded a David Bellamy Gold Award. There are pleasant walks in the area to enjoy with lots of local attractions and country pubs. The park is very dog friendly. We have a well stocked fishing lake for our keen touring fishermen to fish. Two luxury utility blocks with pot wash areas are provided. Wifi is also available. Late arrivals are catered for, if pre-booked.

St John the Baptist Church

Explore the history of this Grade 1 church dating from the 11th Century and one of the oldest churches in Lincolnshire – and discover its link with the family of Isaac Newton. See the font in which Isaac was baptised in January 1642 and the sundial he carved with a penknife aged 9. Learn about plans to restore the Newton Family Chapel and install a Newton Heritage Learning Centre, focussed on science and faith in Sir Isaac Newton’s life and work.

We provide a heritage service installing Blue Plaques and information boards in Grantham. We also take guided walks for visitors and hold talks and lectures, all by our volunteers. We also publish books about the town.

Belvoir Castle

Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland and the family have lived there in an unbroken line for almost a thousand years. Its turrets and towers rise over the Vale of Belvoir like an illustration in a fairytale. Due to the Castle being home to the Rutland Family we are only open on selected days throughout the year (see our website for details). Belvoir has many rooms to view, with history interwoven into the very fabric of the building. Our Tea Room in the castle offers a selection of sandwiches, home-made cakes & scones. Wonderful themed gardens delight our visitors. We hold renowned annual festivals and events within the grounds and you can shop in delight at The Engine Yard retail centre, located opposite our car park.
