Thorney Abbey is a vibrant parish church which welcomes visitors and which is part of a 12th century Benedictine abbey, making an unusually tall and calm interior. To this are added an early Victorian east end, a historic organ, interesting stained glass and a Millennium Tapestry, among other points of interest. From around 1651, a large group of French and Flemish migrants lived here, some of them Huguenots, and worshiped in the Abbey. We have a large text guide available in the church, and a tactile and Braille guide. Printed guides are available to buy.
