Part photography workshop, part heritage exploration, this guided walk invites participants to slow down, look differently, and discover the details that often go unnoticed. Together we’ll explore Bourne’s architecture, hidden corners, changing landscapes and the traces of history that still exist within the town today.

Suitable for all experience levels, this session is not about having the latest camera or technical expertise. Whether you shoot film, digital, instant photography, or simply use your phone, you’ll be encouraged to develop your own way of seeing.

During the walk, you’ll learn:
• Techniques for observing and composing photographs
• How photographers use light, shadow, colour and texture
• Ways of documenting places, memories and local heritage
• Creative exercises designed to help you see familiar places with fresh eyes
• How photography can connect us with stories from the past while documenting the present

Participants will have the opportunity to photograph Bourne’s historic streets, buildings and public spaces, creating a personal visual record of the town through their own perspective.
You’ll leave with:
• New photography skills and creative inspiration
• Practical tips that can be applied to any camera
• A deeper connection to Bourne and its stories
• A Future of the Past Photowalker Certificate
No previous photography experience is required, just curiosity and comfortable footwear.
This photowalk offers a welcoming opportunity to meet fellow photography enthusiasts, heritage lovers and curious observers while experiencing Bourne from a new perspective.
Come and discover what happens when we slow down, pay attention, and look again.

Because sometimes the most interesting stories are already waiting for us, hidden in plain sight.

This workshop is part of the Future of the Past project deliverd by Paradigm Arts in partnership with Bourne Museum, Wake House and Soundlincs.
Future of the Past is funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund
