THE BEST WAYS TO GET TO SOUTH KESTEVEN

As the southern inland gateway to Lincolnshire, South Kesteven is a large district of beautiful countryside, bursting with history and heritage.

The rural county of Rutland and the historic shires of Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire border onto South Kesteven – making the district a perfect touring base for Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.

With the close proximity of the A1 to Stamford and Grantham and the main rail line station at Grantham, travel to South Kesteven is easy.

The best way to find our market towns

By road

The A1 main trunk road from London to Edinburgh passes close to Stamford and Grantham. From the M1, leave at junction 25 and take the A52 from Derby to Grantham or leave at junction 21 and take the A46/607 from Leicester via Melton to Grantham.

Stamford is approximately 20 miles south of Grantham via the A1.

Stamford Coach Parking

Stamford offers a warm welcome to visiting coach parties. Parking is available at the town’s bus station on St Peter’s Hill (PE9 2PE). If this site is full drivers should use the Empingham Road site (PE9 2SX)

By air

East Midlands Airport is less than an hour from Grantham. Birmingham, Stansted and Luton international airports are within two hours travel.

By rail

Grantham is just over an hour direct from London’s Kings Cross, and 35 minutes direct from Nottingham. There is a connecting train from Peterborough or Leicester to Stamford, whilst Skegness is under two hours from Grantham by rail.
