The Old Town Hall is partnering with Bourne United Charities/Red Hall for the 2026 Heritage Open Days festival. The theme this year is ‘Everyday Histories of Working Lives’.
We’re putting the spotlight on R A Gardner (1850-1926), who lived and worked in Bourne as a banker, magistrate at the Town Hall, BUC Trustee and artist (he exhibited at the Royal Academy).
Gardner was a prolific painter who painted in France and Italy but he also loved the English rural life and many of his paintings depict scenes around Bourne.
