Something extraordinary is coming to Grantham.
In spring 2027, the monumental inflatable structure will be installed in Wyndham Park and provide a breathtaking world of light, colour and wonder from Saturday 27th March – Sunday 4th April 2027.
Created by Architects of Air in Nottingham, the Luminarium is an immersive walk-through sculpture unlike anything you’ve experienced before – a glowing labyrinth of tunnels, domes and radiant spaces filled entirely with natural light.
The event forms part of Grantham’s celebrations marking 300 years since the death of Sir Isaac Newton in 1727. Born just a few miles from Grantham at Woolsthorpe Manor and educated at The King’s School, Newton’s fascination with light, colour and discovery changed the way we understand the world. Three centuries later, the Luminarium offers a spectacular modern celebration of those same themes – inviting visitors to step inside a world shaped entirely by light itself.
Inside, shifting daylight creates radiant colours that flood the structure’s tunnels and domes, transforming the space into something both peaceful and extraordinary. Wander, pause, explore, or simply lie back and take it all in.
Visitors around the world have described the experience as calming, joyful, awe-inspiring and unforgettable. Designed for all ages, the Luminarium invites everyone to slow down and immerse themselves in a spectacular sensory world.
Tickets will go on sale in early 2027.
