Step into Stamford’s vibrant past and trace a fascinating history of colourful posters and playbills showcasing old entertainments in Stamford.

This free exhibition at Stamford Town Hall provides an exclusive reveal of reproductions from the Phillips Collection, a treasure trove of poster artwork, playbills, and historic public notices from the Georgian era to the Victorian period, which give an invaluable insight into what life was like in the town during this time.

The exhibition will open 19th September and run until 1st November, with a programme of free events for all ages on selected dates. Just drop in – the exhibition is open 10am and 3pm between Monday and Saturday.

As part of the Heritage Open Days festival, we’re offering an exclusive opportunity to meet our Heritage and Cultural Officer Victoria Newton and view original posters from the collection up-close.

Roll up, roll up! Join us for a circus-themed family fun day filled with creative crafts, live performances, and the fascinating Phillips Collection on display. Drop in anytime between 10am and 4pm – there will be fun for all ages!
