The Odora Piano Trio
The Odora Piano Trio
The Odora Trio was formed in 2017 at the Royal Academy of Music. The trio has performed widely throughout London and the UK with major performances including recitals for the National Trust and broadcasts for BBC Radio. They won 1st prize at The Paris International Music Competition 2024 and were Platinum Prize winners at the Saint-Saëns International Music Competition 2023.
The Odora Trio released their debut CD ‘Evergreen’ at the end of 2022 with support from The Nimbus Foundation and The John Ireland Trust. Their CD champions British music with well-known works including John Ireland’s 3rd Piano Trio in E and Frank Bridge Miniatures. They were also keen to highlight some contemporary female works including Cecilia McDowall’s Cavatina at Midnight, written in 2008, as well as contacting composer Sadie Harrison directly to commission a piano trio, Songs of the Golden Path (2022).
Throughout the years they have performed at various venues and counties including a tour of Scotland, The Lake District Summer Music Festival, Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Canterbury Music Club, Hay Music, Whitstable Music Society, Eaton Square, Royal Academy of Music, The Korean Cultural Centre, The London Charterhouse, Herefordshire, and Concerts for Craswall.
The trio was selected to take part in the Piano Festival at the Royal Academy of Music where they were mentored by renowned cellist Adrian Brendel. They also attended the Wye Valley Chamber Music Summer Residency in 2018, with the generous support from the SPOFF foundation. They have been prize-winners at the Isaacs and Pirani piano competition 2017, The Harold Craxton Chamber Music Competition 2020 and were finalists at The St-Martin’s-In-The Fields Chamber Music Competition 2020.
The trio has been under the guidance of eminent professors such as members of The Doric Quartet, Andrew West, Richard Lester, William Fong and Jo Cole.
