The Deepings Raft Race, the highlight of summer in the Deepings, is set to make waves once again on Sunday 4 August. The event promises a day of fun, excitement, and friendly competition, drawing participants and spectators from near and far. The annual charity event taking place every August in the Deepings on the River Welland is a fun day for everyone on and around the river. Over 40 homemade decorated rafts and their crews race up the river from the Bell Bridge in Deeping St James, finishing at the Boundary Green, with spectators cheering (and splashing!) them on from the river banks. The raft race has been a beloved tradition in the Deepings since the 1960s, raising money for local causes. In the past 10 years over £51,000 has been donated to good causes. This year the event will support three great causes: Little Miracles Children’s Charity, Deeping Leisure Centre Community Project and the Deepings Community Library. Your participation in the Deepings Raft Race helps make a difference in the community around the Deepings. Raft Race Day Programme The start of the raft race is at the Bell Bridge in Deeping St James. The finish line is the Boundary Green beside The […]

Join us this August Bank Holiday weekend as we open our gates for the whole family to enjoy at our Summer Open House. You’re invited to step into our magical staterooms and beautiful gardens. We’d love for you and all the family to join us for a wonderful weekend spent exploring the manor and its beautiful gardens. Discover the Manor's staterooms which were designed as a tour around Europe. Constructed in 1831, Harlaxton Manor is truly unique, combining Jacobean, Elizabethan, and Baroque styles to create a beautiful and awe-inspiring historic house. The Manor Gardens are some of Harlaxton’s most treasured features and our beautiful parkland is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the breath-taking scenery. With French terraces, an Italian garden, a Dutch canal and even an observatory, the formal gardens beside Harlaxton Manor are a feast for the senses. Manicured lawns, blooming flowers and sculpted trees decorate the rolling hills that wrap around the manor which creates a spectacular backdrop. The gardens also include an incredible 19th century conservatory where orange trees and tropical plants grow, some of which were donated by the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. Traditional garden games for you and the little ones to enjoy as […]
