It’s all about, Fulbeck Craft Centre!

April 26, 2024

Fulbeck Craft Centre is on the A607 road to the north of Grantham and well worth a visit any day of the week.

It has a great reputation for promoting craft, craft production and artisan skills in an ethical and environmentally responsible way. The centre is open seven days a week and it hosts a wide range of workshops and artisan markets, so there is always something happening in the most beautiful of surroundings.

There has been a craft centre in Fulbeck for over thirty years! However, in more recent years the centre has undergone renovation and now includes inviting workshop spaces, shops and a recently expanded crafty café.

There is fascinating history at the Fulbeck Craft Centre, set within the grounds of Fulbeck Manor – dating from 1580.

The stables were formerly Army workshops in 1944 when the British First Airborne Division were headquartered at Fulbeck in World War Two in the build up to Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

The crafty café is open from 10am to 4pm, most of their food uses local produce and they have their very own deli offering fair trade, speciality, and local produce, as well as homemade cakes and some delightful artwork! There is indoor and outdoor seating, so this is a great place for a spot of lunch, come rain or shine. They are especially well known for their breakfasts.

On site, you can meet local crafters, there is a saddler, woodturner, potter and a silver jeweller! The old coach house store contains products that fulfil their sustainable, eco-friendly, and fair-trade criteria. Within the shop is a dedicated area for local crafters and artisans, meaning you can find something unique whilst supporting small independent businesses.

The Fulbeck Craft Centre hosts monthly artisan markets. Each market is on the second Saturday of every month and attracts a huge range of local artisans, producers, and growers with live music in the summer months.

As well as monthly markets, the centre hosts a wide variety of workshops that you can sign up to on their website. There are workshops for wet-felt, leather journals, macrame, clay pottery and embroidery, plus much more. Check out the website what’s on calendar; https://fulbeckcraftcentre.co.uk/

You can also follow the Fulbeck Craft centre on social media.  It’s on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, but the best thing to do is pop along, and visit them. It really is a wonderful place to visit and its easy to see why its one of our favourites!
