  • Poetic Worth – Creative Writing Workshop

    This year the Old Town Hall Pop-Up Events is joining the Worth 200 celebrations in the town of Bourne to celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Frederick Worth, known globally as “the Father of Haute Couture”. Alongside our call-out for themed poetry, we’re offering a free Creative Writing Workshop where local writer Kei Bailey will help you to begin crafting a poem for submission to the Poetic Worth event. No prior experience is required, just an enthusiasm to write! The workshop will take place in the Baxter Room at Wake House, 41 North Street, Bourne, PE10 9AE

  • Heritage Open Days: Rebuild the Town Hall!

    While the town hall building is closed, we’re holding pop-up events to celebrate Heritage Open Days this year. Join local artist Lucie Lawson to use recyclable materials to help us to rebuild Bourne's town hall building! This workshop is for children age 8+ All materials will be supplied, please wear suitable, old clothing in case things gets messy! This is a pop-up event which will take place at the 1 Hub, Bourne, PE10 9DX

    The Old Town Hall Pop-Up present live music from Side by Side An evening of live music with Dave Bailey and Meg Bryson including acoustic, folk, pop, country and re-imagined disco and rock. Join us at 7.30pm on Saturday 22nd November 2025 at Bourne Abbey Church Hall A little about the duo: after the Masons Arms’ first open mic in November 2024, Dave offered to accompany Meg on future open mic nights. They first performed together in December and both felt a bit of magic. Thus, the duo Side by Side was born.

    The Old Town Hall will be holding a Pop-Up Stall at the Bourne Christmas Fayre and Lights Switch-On. From 12noon to 5pm on Saturday 29th November 2025 in Bourne town centre. Come along to support our fundraising - we'll have decorations, gift bags and gifts for sale. All proceeds go towards Bourne Town Hall's regeneration project.

    The Old Town Hall Pop-Ups is delighted to welcome back Tim Stubbs for another informative and lighthearted talk, this time about antiques. Tim remembers his interest in antiques beginning through gardening, as he uncovered some blue and white pottery in the border; as a child he would visit people who lived on the green asking if I could dig for pottery in their gardens. “A little older, delivering bread door to door, I’d see other people’s treasures…things we didn’t have at home as my parents has been brought up with “old stuff” and only wanted new ! Long before I could drive I’d get my Dad to take me to an antique shop in Market Deeping on a Sunday afternoon…..he never went in and would ‘pip’ as he got fed up waiting for me. My collecting area has been pretty broad over the years but has been honed slightly as I’ve got older; country things and social history are both key factors in my collections. After baking, I was assistant manager and trainee auctioneer at Bourne Auctions….probably the best job of my life!
