Led by experienced ride leaders, these rides are a great way to explore new places and to meet new people who enjoy cycling. They are suitable for all levels of experience, so whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist, you can find a ride that is right for you.
Your qualified British Cycling Ride leaders will meet you at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre and guide you at a safe and leisurely pace. The ride starts with a descent out of Barrowby down to the Vale of Belvoir. We will then wind our way through some delightful villages climbing up the escarpment of the Leicestershire Worlds at Croxton Kerrial before making our way to the Tea Rooms at the 19th Century windmill above Wymondham. After lunch we will make our way back across the Wolds followed by a descent to Harlaxton and the short climb back up to Barrowby before returning to Grantham Meres Leisure Centre. Your leaders are fully trained and qualified through British Cycling, and above all friendly. They will take all reasonable steps to ensure your, and the public's safety and we never leave anyone behind. Now to the cost of all this. The great news is that it is totally free of charge, apart from refreshments, which are optional. All riders must be registered and wear a suitable cycling helmet. Our Woods and Parkland rides are supported by qualified British Cycling Ride Leaders who will meet you in Wyndham Park, Grantham and guide you at a safe and leisurely pace through Queen Elizabeth Park, through Sunningdale and onto the new cycle/footpath up to The Woodland Trust’s Londonthorpe Woods. After a short break to introduce this beautiful woodland amenity, we will make our way along 5 Gates Lane and on to the Belton Estate. We will be granted special entry to the estate where we will stop for refreshments including a complimentary hot drink* from Belton Estate NT. Once rested, we will continue through the private parkland until we reach the Lion Gates. It is here that we join Belton Lane for a short stretch of road riding until we reach the shared path back to Wyndham park. If you still have space, you can have a coffee with new found friends in the Wyndham Park Tea Rooms.
