Following the success of the Rogue Reindeer trail project in Grantham last December, the Arts Centres have initiated a district-wide arts project in collaboration with primary schools, community groups, and businesses.
The Art Centres have partnered with a local artist, Simon Kieffer from Outwood CIC, to create giant wooden eggs, each standing at approximately three feet tall. Currently, over 30 eggs are being decorated by primary schools and community groups across the district.
The free Giant Easter Egg Hunts in Grantham, Market Deeping, Bourne & Stamford are scheduled as follows:
- Grantham – Based outside in Wyndham Park, starting from the Visitor Centre – Saturday 30th March 2024, 10am-2pm – Booking essential – Wyndham Park Easter Trail & Duck Race 2024 (guildhallartscentre.com)
- Market Deeping – Joining up with the Deeping Community Library’s Easter Family Funday, the trail will start from Deeping Community Library & the eggs will be located outside in the surrounding area of the library – Saturday 30th March 2024, 10am – 2pm – no booking required.
- Bourne – Starting from the Bourne Corn Exchange, the trail will take place throughout Bourne Town Centre with participating businesses and shops – Saturday 6th April 2024, 11am-3pm (last entry 2pm) – no booking required.
- Stamford – Starting from Stamford Arts Centre, the trail will take place throughout Stamford Town Centre with participating businesses and shops – Saturday 6th April 2024, 11am-3pm (last entry 2pm) – no booking required.
All events are free to participate, but pre-booking is required for the Wyndham Park event.
Participants to the trails will collect their trail sheets from the starting point, embark on the egg hunt, collecting words to solve puzzles on the trail sheets. Upon completion, participants need to return to the starting point, to receive a small sweetie reward and have the chance to enter a prize draw to win tickets for upcoming shows at the arts centres.

There will also be a Easter Wreath making workshop on Tuesday 2nd April at the Guildhall Arts Centre in Grantham, this workshop is designed to ignite creativity and spread Easter joy among young ones. Children will have a blast creating their very own Easter wreaths while exploring different materials and themes associated with this special holiday, suitable for ages 3+.
