Light and Colour 2024
New exhibition for 2024! Come and explore Newtons theory of light and colour in the Manor House.

New fence – Blue diamond
Woolsthorpe Manor will see a number of improvements to the garden thanks to the support of Blue Diamond Garden Centres, who held a very special auction late last year.
Ten saplings were propagated from the original apple tree that inspired Sir Isaac Newton’s theory of gravity and these were auctioned by Blue Diamond to raise money for the future care of this special place.
From the income raised by the auction, a new willow fence has been installed to help protect the roots of the famous tree, and over the next few months work will take place to improve the use of garden waste, turning it into nutrient-rich composting for the site.
Pin badge
Woolsthorpe Manor have launched a new fundraising pin badge based on Isaac Newton’s signature. These badges are being sold for a suggested donation of £3 in the ticket office shop from April 2024. All income raised supports vital projects on site to help preserve this truly special place.
Science Activities Thursday 11th April
Explore, experiment, and discover Isaac Newton’s story and science at Woolsthorpe this Easter!
Knowledgeable volunteers will be leading activities based on the electromagnetic spectrum – guess which x-ray belongs to which animal, paint a plate, and measure the speed of light using a microwave and some chocolate!
There will be two sessions running 10.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm, £3 per child, book on arrival.
Science Bags
During British Science Week (March 2024) Woolsthorpe Manor launched its Science Bags.
Designed to inspire the next generation of big thinkers and world changers, the ‘Bags of Science’ are available to borrow on your visit, with a variety of handheld experiments to try, like prisms, gravity experiments and diffraction glasses.
Time and Space Award
Do you have a world-changing idea? The National Trust wants to hear it!
The Time + Space Awards are a chance for four 16-25 year olds to get the space, time, support and inspiration you need to unlock your big idea.
Winners will be chosen in the fields of nature & climate, arts & culture, science, and society and will be awarded a package of mentoring, expert support, time at Woolsthorpe Manor National Trust, resources, expenses, and more to help you bring your big idea to life.

All applicants – winners or not, will also get a free National Trust day pass for two visitors to use at any of the participating places the National Trust looks after.
